Is it legal to redistribute AA in form of a deb package? I know the redistribution is allowed provided the software is unmodified. So is the packaging considerdered modification or merely a means of delivery?

I've already asked the AACM's that before, and even offered to create the package for them, they ignored me and didn't even bother to respond.

If the packaging allowed, it could be included in many Linux repositories and distros. This would radically enlarge Linux user base as most Linux users install only software from their distro's repo.

Indeed, most novice Linux will not install software if it isn't in their Distro's repository, or at least availible in their package manager's native format.

I know at least one Linux repo where AA2 is included - it's CNR intended for Linspire users:
http://packages.cnr.com/data/u...386.deb

but it seems it's uploaded by a user.

The package works though well under Ubuntu Jaunty.
