That's an easy one, your video card either in the server or client (whatever is crashin here) is older then snot (Doesn't have shader 2.0 when we're up to 3.0 and above now), upgrade the card, not much uses shaders 2.0 or lower

Ok that is a log file is from our gameserver Log. (Game Servers.com). You would think gameservers would have the right hardware if they are hosting AA3 servers.

Myself I am running a Nvidia 8800gtx with 186.18 driver set, I have no trouble playing the game once i get in.


I shut these option off server side...would they be causing the problem?

DebugEXEName- Delete THE REST OF THE LINE AFTER THE = (EQUALS SIGN)
MotionBlur-Change to FALSE (Default is TRUE)
AmbientOcclusion-Change to FALSE (Default is TRUE)
bSmoothFrameRate-Change to FALSE (Default is TRUE)

I still freeze every other time i enter a server... Crying or Very Sad

Although the game freezes 99,99% of the time this is the log found in US Army log folder

There is a quicker fix that may work for you K4, but make sure your Punkbuster is up to date, as well as DirectX.

@-{LAG}-Slip.Silk - I have no idea what functions use shader 2.0 and later, but if your renting from them and your having issues, tell them to fix it or your taking your business elsewhere, cause renting something that's faulty is unacceptable.

DanielRich - That log doesn't tell you anything, you want to give the last 1-10 lines of the log to be useful (that is where it crashes and shows errors) Also make sure you have the right log, it should be the most recent log that was created (find out through right click->properties) assuming you havn't played since the crash

was anyone else getting the "This game is currently unavailable, please try again later" message when they tried to play thru Steam, not going directly to the binaries folder and running AA3Game.exe? if you were, and you were running vista, try running steam as administrator. it worked for me. also, there is a steam page that has a troubleshooting guide, and none of the other stuff worked for my, but finally trying to run steam.exe as admin worked. and the shortcut on the desktop doesnt let you run it as admin. so you have to go directly to the steam folder and you can go to the properties of the file, then the compatibility section, and then click run this as admin at the bottom. when you run steam the first time that way, it will have a message saying its not recommended, but just click cancel as its what the following website suggests.

i hope this helps someone out. i went about the last week working around this problem, and finally found a fix for it. so hopefully it lets someone else not have to troubleshoot. =)

If your mouse doesn`t respond (normally happens when changing settings (any settings) in game), press F3.
If F3 doesn't work, press alt+f4, this should open the menu (no, IT DOESN'T CLOSE THE GAME)

If your weapon doesn't show up after throwing a nade or smthg, switch to a nade.

If you throw a nade, but nothing happens (the grenade doesnt show up, or when u throw it u cant use/select ur gun) press left button. the nade throwing animation will start again, and normally nothing will happen, and ur gun will show up.


DON'T, PLEASE, DON'T CHEAT ON YOUR CLS TEST! I CAN'T STAND MORE PEOPLE MISSING THE RIGHT TREATMENT!!!

hi guys, i've tried about anything now but i just can't get any servers in mbs screen!
it stays at 0% and no servers appear!
i don't understand it, i had servers on it a couple days and could join them.
but after last patch it just wont work?
i'm not one the greatest computerfreaks but at this point i'm out of ideas.
i really hope you guys can help!

I don't know who has written this logfile-system, but i think this comes from an alpha 0.0001...
why has a logfile a size from 400kb-2,5mb??

do we need information like:

this is just one example and can give you much more like "end of round statistics"...

so at this point i would beg the DEV-team to clean up the logfiles!
plz insert a short dx-call and remove sensible playerdata so that we are able to just post a log...

this will get you a lot of logs to update the game and save us a lot of time to post a log!

CPU: Dual Core Intel 6700 @ 2.66 GH

Graphic card: Nividia GeForce 9800 GT

Problem: Game crash often, sometimes makes Windows crash and reboot (no game freezes, only crashes)

What I tried already:

- I start the game using a shortcut with the adress
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c start "runhigh" /high "E:\GAMES\America's Army 3\Binaries\AA3Game.exe"" giving the process high priority,
- I replaced aa3_edata.client.fmap with the one downloaded here
- I delete "ftmp" file (f.example _ftmp_1040.0) in the "binaries" folder after every crash or game closing

All this made the game run more stable (less system crashes) but I still get alot of game crashes.

Error: the game doesn't start when you hit "Launch AA3" with the Deploy Client. The splash screen appears, it seems that AA3 is loading but it doesn't start and you have to manually terminate it.
