ok here goes:
game froze after server changed maps after running for multiple rounds. ctrl-alt-del to get out. it does this every time, unless it freezes out of the blue before then. random freezes appear at any time, from game launch to any of the menus.

running win7 7100
gf8800gts 640mb
athlon64 x2 5600+
4gb ram
m-audio delta1010 sound

Just stops on "Initiali"... I think it doesn't even start the Engine, but what do I know...

Thanks but I was using the 9.5 and updated to 9.6 on the launch day so it can't be that. Also set all anti-aliasing features to automatic and nothing changed.

Thanks anyway. Any more ideas are welcome.

I was thinking if it could be router-related..? But since the engine doesn't seem to load, I'm guessing it doesn't even tries to connect anywhere.

DESCRIPTION

Can't join mp servers or game crashes to desktop while in a server.

I pre-downloaded the game through steam and i had the auth issues everyone had but i could join some servers after i had finished my basic training. This servers weren't authed, but they worked perfectly well (no lagg) and i could play every single map.

After the patch there are two things that usually happen, try to connect to a server and map starts loading and then game starts showing the map's pictures, then back to my soldier profile after showing the enlist videos, or i get in the server and after a while (sometimes when i was already playing) the game crashes to desktop. Usually the map that i can get in is BRIDGE.

Btw i have downloaded and patched the game twice, with the same results.

My specs:

e6600 3.0 ghz
2 gb ddr2 800
8800 gts 320 MB

My settings:

resolution 1280x1024
everything on medium, vsync off and blur on.
sound on optimal (x-fi gamer)

Drivers: 186.08 and 186.18

Just stops on "Initiali"... I think it doesn't even start the Engine, but what do I know...

Thanks but I was using the 9.5 and updated to 9.6 on the launch day so it can't be that. Also set all anti-aliasing features to automatic and nothing changed.

I was thinking if it could be router-related..? But since the engine doesn't seem to load, I'm guessing it doesn't even tries to connect anywhere.



Hey man. I have the EXACT same problem as you. It's as if I posted my problem under your name. My log file looks identical to yours. It stops at the exact same spot. (Initiali)

Im running XP 32 bit.
Video card: ATI HD Radeon 4870
Drivers tried: 8.7, 9.5, 9.6
Direct X fully up to date.
Redownloaded once already.
Trying via Steam, not bigdownload.
Have tried nearly every trick to get it working, never have I gotten past the splash screen.

I thought maybe I had some super obscure problem that was screwing me up, but since your issue looks 100% identical to mine, that gives me a little hope that it is something they can fix, and will soon.

I already posted here somewhere but I used to freeze at the first splash screen.

Older video drivers (169.21)for my 8800GT will let the game load.

Still freezes on trying to enter training or a server.
The logs don't end with an error, they're just cut off in the middle of something.

Thank god! Someone with the same problem!
The only things common to us are maybe using Steam and ATI Radeon HD4870... ?
Hope this can be some kind of hint to DEVs.
BTW, did you get those errors on the log too?

ok... I solved my problem (or at least got the game to load). Disabled audio drivers!

Note that I had already tried loading the game with the "-noaudio" command line parameter but it didn't load. Disabling audio drivers seems to do the trick, though...

Yes, I did get those errors. My log files look identical to yours near the bottom.

You say you disabled your audio drivers and that did the trick? How did you do that? Are they easy to enable again? I'd like to see if that fixes it for me, but I dont wanna be stuck with no audio . :X

I get a BSOD with this DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
I have reinstalled Nvidia drivers 182.08, Done a test on Punkbuster which was OK.
Played the game this morning worked 100% ok ... had lunch came back on and have been getting this problem everytime I log into a server.
Training missions run without fault and results save just fine, problem only happens joining a server.
Thinking it might be a memory problem or hardware related, fired up COD4 and played for 20 mins with no problems whatsoever.

*Edit: Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool: No errors found !

Running:
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
280GTX Graphics card.
Q6600 running at stock speed.
4 gig of RAM

i would like to throw another error that i at least ran into when getting stuck during the server authentication portion. I have so up until this point been unable to join a server with pb running in the server browser. hitting F12 revealed a error message. it was something along the line of error copying file, wrong pb version and then the version pb. has anyone else run into this one yet?

I have problem Operating system vista 32 memory 4g professor 2.6 intel core 2 game functions in very menus but if to play or training goes so game become stuck and announcement army ops.exe Former stopped functioned by where fault Evil or Very Mad help pls.

Go to the binaries folder and there is a file called pb(something I don't remember what).exe double click that and let it update your pb version, that should solve your problem.

Your not supposed to do training until further notice, read the announcements and you'd know this.
