 [FINAL] Raid and Evade

I’d like to invite you all to try my new multiplayer map called “Raid and Evade” Raid_and_Evade.aao updated 06-22-08

This is not just another MP version of E & E

Like many of the maps on AA, this is best played with a large group of players. Any big map with just a couple of your friends will play completely different than it does with a loaded server. If you want to test this map with a group of players jsy e-mail me at joegunn@hqraiders.com and I'll try to put together a scrimmage with some of our guys.



I took the E&E map which I have always loved and flattened the mountain in the center of the map to add a mining camp. I took the Player starts from Woodland Outpost and the POW starts from SF Snakeplain and made a nice little Escort and Ambush map with a twist.

The VIP/POW spawns in one of 6 random locations around the map. The Escort team spawns in one of three random locations. On the Ambush side the snipers and support rifleman spawn randomly at the towers. The VIP must escape his cell and evade capture while making his way to the mining camp for an extraction at the heli-pad. The VIP/POW will then just run to the center of the LZ.

Tunnels.... they are not the central point of the map. They do add atmosphere and some opportunities for close quarters combat. I wanted to encourage team work and keep the escape and evade nature of the map while forcing the action into the center of the map much like HQ Raid or JRTC














I am still working on this one so any bugs you find please let me know.

Bug detected:
There is a house with a mine entrance.
Get down and you'll notice that the sound of the WOODEN ladder is of a steel ladder.

Now, when you're down you have 2 entrances, take the 1 on the left and you'll see a ladder.
Try to walk up the ladder and you'll notice you can't.

LOL, I can't for the life of me picture where you are. AFAIK there are no "two entrences" unless you are talking about the mine shaft elevator (ruins, not functional). I have comm locations for most all buildings on the map. Can you post that or a screenie?

I will examine it again.
1. Get in the house with the mine entrance.
2. Now fall down or walk down by the ladders.
3. Now you can go to the right or to the left.
Take here the left one and go forwards.
Now you'll see a ladder try to climb it up and you'll notice you can't.
The house with the MINE entrance is on a hill top.

You're right. That house on the hil is the mine shaft evevator building. The elevator is collapsed in ruins. The tunnel with the left and right option leads to the surface to the right and one of the POW spawns to the left. The POW should spawn in the room at the top of the ladder that doesn't work. I'll fix that and post another version.

I've fixed the ladder that didn't work. For some reason the ladder volume and all related stuff disapeared. It had been working fine.

This map is now a Release Candidate. I hope the major bugs have been corrected. We have played the map as a beta many times and love it.

Raid and Evade is now final. I submitted my last version http://files.filefront.com/Rai...fo.html to Mission Depot and will post a link here when they have approved and posted the map.

There were minor changes and bug fixes to the map. With 8+ players on the server this map is a blast. Not so much with a few players on the server (like any large outdoor map). I made it like HQ Raid, Farm Raid and Swamp Raid in that the objective is always in the center of the map except this is an escort map. Like HQ Raid map there are layers of defense around the objective. If you camp the objective you may be flanked. Unlike JRTC Farm Raid the assault team spawns in three random locations and can travel all the way around the camp.

If you haven't played it in a while or if you haven't played it with more than a couple friends please give it another try. I have it on our server for a while. 72.37.150.147 Bring yuor whole clan by for a propper thrashing. Very Happy
