Version 2.5 of the game is available for Linux clients. Newer versions are only available as server variants.

Moving to General Linux.

Its been noted before that new Linux and Mac versions likely aren't going to come back out awhile if ever, even with the rather popular request from a lot of users that one does come out.

At this time it simply seems to take more than they can afford or perhaps can be able to put time into, or something : x

Even more so after the "release a OS just to make money" (Microsoft Vista).
Maybe we might see a comeback with linux and Mac on AA 3.0 but I highly doubt it.

America's Army 2.8.2 for the most part works fine under wine in linux, except for punkbuster. You can waste your time here on the forum arguing with dev's about why they don't see it cost efficient enough to make a linux/mac port, someone else pulls their strings anyhow(write your congressmen), or you can do something about it yourself and help get America's Army/punkbuster working in wine.

It's the common problem for all gamedev studios - they think that it is not necessary and they're mistaken...

Folks, the game works fine under linux in wine, the problem is punkbuster.
That said, if the game isnt the problem, why fix it?
Send a email to punkbuster and complain to them about the lack of support, that is much more likely to get a good response.
In the meantime how about playing on non-punkbuster servers?
Yes there are cheaters but there are also hundreds of servers that you can go to if a [TOS Violation] ruins the one you are playing.
