I issue a challenge to anyone willing to accept.

The challenge is as follows:

1. Create an AA server on a Mac. (Easy schmeezy, follow this guide)

2. Make it viewable to everyone through the server browser. (The harder part)



It has been 2 years since this thread was started and nobody has been able to create a Mac server that shows up when people search for it from the server browser (As far as i know). This is, i believe, the only way for a server to be successful and popular among the gamers because nobody knows your IP address unless you tell them. I use version 2.3 and after I saw this thread, I spent a few hours creating a 2.3 server. I was encouraged by what I accomplished and promised my clan a high quality and free server that would replace our high quality and popular, but expensive server. So I created the server fine on my Mac, but it is not usefull because NOBODY CAN SEE IT! :-p ITs very fustrating. So that is why I issue this challenge to Mac users everywhere. Find the source of this awful bug and let us know the solution.

EDIT: A few other mac users can see the server I created and they are not on my LAN so it is a good sign, but not good enough to make a Mac server viable.

i did it when i put up border a couple a people joined and i can see it in the browser

Im using 2.5 how do i create my own server? I need help of doing it manually.

This is what happens when i try and start my server, i can get onto it using the 127.0.0.1 thing but cant see it in the server list and not anyone else. And also what are all those warning and things.

The 2.5 Assist Client now includes the Assist server manager which has solved all of these problems and allows you to run a server on a mac by simply clicking a button called 'START' The server will show up in the list and everything.

Problem: Neither of your links work.


Operating System: Mac OSX 10.5.6, but PPC.


Method of Creation of Server: Tried self, but the new System Prefs is different. All three links don't work. Sad
