I have been trying to play on my 1.2 GHz iBook and the graphics in AA are HORRIBLE. I attempted to change any and all graphics settings I could find and none improved the issue I am having.

Anyone else run AA on this machine? Any ideas? Suggestions?

My graphics are awesome in UT2004. AA seems to be the only problem.

The resolution seems to be aweful. When standing on defense side of BRIDGE middle tower area and even sefcond car near middle tower area are just blobs of black and white..

I went to ATI's website and updated what needed to be updated. No fix either.. Sad

What happened to the g5 in your sig? Lol, Imm fine on a single 1.8!

Anyways, why don't you post screenshots? Because otherwise we think you are talking about the fog.

I played AA once on my iBook but the plasma screen meant the fog was sunddenly pea soup and I had a shorter FOV that everyone else even with sniper. I died. A lot.

I have an iBook (2004), 1.25 Ghz and occasionally plays on it - and have not experienced any graphical problems at all. I assume, since UT runs fine, that nothing is wrong with your iBook.

Have you tried to load a map off-line?

(Start the app. and open console and type: "start bridge" - without the quotes-followed by enter.
To walk around the map open console again and type: playerlock 0 )

Hmm.. Ok.. To give you a better run down..

I have the stock Radeon 9200 Mac edition.

I still have my Dual G5 (No worries.. Razz) but a friend has been playing on it and I tried to join her in game on my iBook..

I am running on OS Jaguar, the iBook is only bout 6 months old.

I did run BRIDGE offline, same graphics issues..

How do I take a screen shot so I can show you? :/

Thanks in advance once again..

Hmm...
Our iBooks is obviously bought about the same time, so the should be very alike - and then You would be running Panther as this goes with the iBook.
(You have 2 grey DVD's, right) ?

Maybe game prefs messed up ?

Perhaps a fresh install of the game ?

F9. They then appear in ~/application Support/AA 2.1/screenshots (somthing like that).

Alright.. I ended up downloading a program called SnapNDrag. HIGHLY recommended freeware you can find on Apple's site.. Anyway.. I saved some screenshots for you. If you guys can review them and let me know what you think.. The screenshots are taken with all graphics maxed out. I tried lowering them and they were just as bad if not worse.. I also tried to change the 800 X 600 to umm.. whatever the higher is.. These screenshots were taken with highest res also..
The pipeline shots were taken with gamma and brightness raised and yet the map is nearly pitch black in some areas..

it looks to me like the color setings are wrong, i mean is like looking at a windows 98 image .
i would check the display settings on yoursystem preferences and see if you have it anything lower than millions of colors, i mean if you just started using the iBook for the game it may just have been on the wrong color setting.

I have a friend who plays on an iBook 1ghz with 610 MB ram and we play even SF maps with no problems, except some lag once in a wile.

I'm with Garcia on this one. Those really look like they came from a Windows box big time.

Garcia.. I love you. Razz

That was EXACTLY the problem.. My prefs in my OS were set on THOUSANDS.. I rarely use this machine so perhaps I never set it in the first place..

Thank you all for your time.. It is truely appreciated as usual.. Smile
